Obverse

Obverse imagery on the 2 oz Silver Egyptian Gods Osiris Rounds includes a front-facing design of the resurrected figure of Osiris. He was often depicted in hieroglyphs in his human form with green skin while wearing the Atef crown and holding a crook and flail. Except for the green skin, all of these elements are found in this design. The Atef crown is on his head and his crossed arms are holding the crook and flail in his hands. There is a design in the lower-right field on this side that showcases the cartouche with symbols used to represent his name in hieroglyphs.

Reverse

Reverse visuals on the 2 oz Silver Egyptian Gods Osiris Rounds showcase the mummified body of Osiris. Following his resurrection, he once again died and passed on to the afterlife. His mummified body is shown upright in front of a pyramid tomb with clay pots near his feet and an inscription beneath of 2 oz Ag 999.

History

Osiris is often depicted in hieroglyphs with the beard of a pharaoh and is closely associated with both fertility and kingship. In fact, the Atef crown he wears comes from the dynasties of Upper Egypt and the so-called white crown worn by its rulers. Osiris holds the crook and flail, symbols of agriculture and kingship.
