President George Washington featured on a total of four different denominations of US paper currency. The highest denomination he appeared on was the $20 Gold Certificate in 1905, 1906, and 1922 redesigns. He has featured on the $1 denomination across the United States Note, Silver Certificate, Federal Reserve Bank Note, and Federal Reserve Note series. Washington featured on the $5 series of National Bank Notes from 1882 as well. His lone appearance on a $2 denomination came with the release of the 1899 $2 Silver Certificate.

Obverse

On the obverse side of these $2 Washington Porthole Legal Tender Notes is a depiction of President George Washington. The porthole design is so-called because it appears as though President Washington is peeking out of a ships porthole at the designs around him. His effigy is flanked by two allegorical figures representing agriculture and mechanics.

Reverse

The reverse face of $2 Washington Porthole Legal Tender Notes comes with an image of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The existing design on the modern $2 Federal Reserve Note. The design is based on an 1818 painting of the moment created by John Trumbull and was chosen for the reverse of the modern $2 bill in 1976 when it was introduced in the Federal Reserve Note series.

History

President Washington featured on a number of different design releases in the Silver Certificate series. Silver Certificates were issued from 1878 to 1957 and were redeemable through 1965. President Washington debuted on the back of the 1896 $1 Educational Note, and again on the $1 Silver Certificates in 1923, 1928, 1934, 1935, and in the final issue in 1957. His lone appearance on the $2 denomination came in the 1899 Silver Certificate release.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.

Can I choose the method of shipping?

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.

Will I need to sign for my package?

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.

What about International Orders?

Provident is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
