The highest denomination he appeared on was the $20 Gold Certificate in 1905, 1906, and 1922 redesigns. He has featured on the $1 denomination across the United States Note, Silver Certificate, Federal Reserve Bank Note, and Federal Reserve Note series. Washington featured on the $5 series of National Bank Notes from 1882 as well. His lone appearance on a $2 denomination came with the release of the 1899 $2 Silver Certificate.

On the obverse side of these $2 Washington Porthole Legal Tender Notes is a depiction of President George Washington. The porthole design is so-called because it appears as though President Washington is peeking out of a ships porthole at the designs around him. His effigy is flanked by two allegorical figures representing agriculture and mechanics.

The reverse face of $2 Washington Porthole Legal Tender Notes comes with an image of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The existing design on the modern $2 Federal Reserve Note. The design is based on an 1818 painting of the moment created by John Trumbull and was chosen for the reverse of the modern $2 bill in 1976 when it was introduced in the Federal Reserve Note series.

President Washington featured on a number of different design releases in the Silver Certificate series. Silver Certificates were issued from 1878 to 1957 and were redeemable through 1965. President Washington debuted on the back of the 1896 $1 Educational Note, and again on the $1 Silver Certificates in 1923, 1928, 1934, 1935, and in the final issue in 1957. His lone appearance on the $2 denomination came in the 1899 Silver Certificate release.

$2 Washington Porthole Legal Tender Notes are genuine legal tender from the Federal Reserve and housed in bi-fold blue presentation folios. The folio houses the bill on the right and a detailed Certificate of Authenticity on the left.
