The Canadian Gold Maple Leaf series, launched in 1979 by the Royal Canadian Mint, quickly gained popularity as a North American alternative to the South African Krugerrand. The Gold Maple Leaf was designed to meet the demand for high-quality gold coins in the global market. Right now, 2000 Fireworks Privy Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coins are available from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 2000 Fireworks Privy Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coin comes in a protective flip. Over the years, the Royal Canadian Mint has crafted special editions of the Gold Maple Leaf, with the fireworks privy adding a festive element to this issue. Fireworks are commonly associated with celebrations around the world, and this design captures that spirit.
Obverse
The obverse side of the 2000 Fireworks Privy Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coin features Queen Elizabeth II in a right-profile portrait. This third-generation depiction by artist Dora de Pedery-Hunt shows the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem. Inscriptions read ELIZABETH II, 50 DOLLARS, and 2000.
Reverse
On the reverse of 2000 Fireworks Privy Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coins is the famous sugar maple leaf, a design by Walter Ott that has symbolized Canadian pride since it first appeared on the Gold Maple Leaf coins in 1979. This edition includes a fireworks privy mark, showing multiple bursts of fireworks within an oval, along with the year 2000a tribute to the turn of the millennium. The inscriptions here read CANADA, 9999, FINE GOLD, and 1 OZ OR PUR.
History
Fireworks trace their origins to ancient China, where early inventors unintentionally created explosive powder while experimenting with different chemical combinations. Initially used in warfare, gunpowder later became a part of public festivities, especially during the Tang Dynasty, and has since become a global symbol of celebration.
