History

The 2001 coin design was the fourth of the Vistas of Liberty Series and the second-to-last release of that collection. The mintage of 52,017 coins in this 1/10 oz release remains the third-highest mintage for this weight behind the 1999 coin and the debut 1997 release. It was also the highest among the four weights in 2001 by a factor of two.
