The Proof American Eagle Silver Coin was introduced by the United States Mint in 1986 alongside the Brilliant Uncirculated version of the coin. The coins have been available every year since that time, with the lone exception being the 2009 release of the coins that was suspended due to demand for the BU coins. Right now, you can buy 2001-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins online at Provident Metals in near-perfect condition.
Highlights:
Provident Metals is happy to offer you the 2001-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin for purchase online in near-perfect condition. Coins in this condition exhibit full, original mint luster with a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. These flaws are limited in nature to minuscule contact marks or hairlines and are limited in scope to the areas outside of the primary focal points of the coin. DCAM stands for deep-cameo and refers to the contrast between the strong, frosted design and the deeply-mirrored, clear field.
Obverse
Walking Liberty is depicted in the obverse design of 2001-W Proof American Eagle Silver Coins. This image shows Liberty in left-profile relief with the American flag draped around her figure. Inscriptions on this side include Liberty, In God We Trust, and 2001.
Reverse
The heraldic eagle of the United States is found on the reverse side of 2001 Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins. The design shown here features a front-facing bald eagle with the US national shield, the arrows of war, the olive branch of peace, and a triangular cluster of 13 stars.
History
The 2001 release of the Proof American Eagle Silver Coin experienced a significant surge in demand compared to 2000. The year-over-year growth in demand was 146,398 coins. The only year-over-year growth greater than this in the history of the series was the 2005-2006 period when demand jumped by more than 200,000 coins for the 20th-anniversary release.
