The year 2003 marked a significant milestone in the history of the Chinese Silver Panda series with the release of a new design. These coins are celebrated for featuring the beloved Giant Panda, and while it is customary for each year to bring a fresh design, 2001 and 2002 saw a departure from this tradition with a shared design. The 2003 release revitalized the tradition of unique designs. You now have the opportunity to acquire the 2003 Chinese Panda 1 oz Silver Coins online from Provident Metals.

  • Each coin is delivered in protective plastic capsules!
  • Part of the 19th edition in the Chinese Panda Silver Series!
  • Limited mintage of just 600,000 silver coins!
  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver.
  • Features a face value of 10 Yuan, backed by the Peoples Republic of China.
  • The obverse showcases a charming image of a Giant Panda surrounded by bamboo.
  • The reverse design highlights the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests.

Every 2003 Chinese Panda 1 oz Silver Coin offered here is carefully encased in a protective plastic capsule for secure delivery. Notably, the Chinese Mint produced a record mintage of 600,000 coins in 2003, a testament to the enduring appeal of this series.

The obverse of the 2003 Chinese Panda Silver Coin features an endearing portrayal of a Giant Panda. This year’s design depicts the Giant Panda looking toward the viewer, with bamboo in the background and bamboo stalks in the foreground. Inscriptions read 1 OZ, AG, .999, and the face value of 10 Yuan.

On the reverse side of the 2003 Panda 1 oz Silver Coins, you’ll find the familiar Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests design. This design has remained consistent on the reverse of all Silver Pandas since 1983 and is also featured on the obverse of all Gold Panda coins. It beautifully showcases the primary building within the Temple of Heaven Complex. Inscriptions include the nation of issue and 2001.

Thanks to conservation efforts, the wild giant panda population has increased over the years. As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, they were reclassified from “endangered” to “vulnerable” by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
