Each 2004 Proof American Eagle Platinum 4-Coin Set includes four coins, each secured in an individual capsule and packaged together in a presentation box. The set contains 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz platinum coins, each struck in .9995 pure platinum with face values listed in U.S. Dollars.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2004 Proof Eagle Platinum Coins presents Lady Liberty. This close-up of Libertys face, taken from the Statue of Liberty, was first created in 1997 by John Mercanti, who was the 12th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint. It was designed specifically for the Platinum Eagle Series.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2004 Proof American Eagle Platinum Coin, you will see Daniel Chester Frenchs statue known as America, located at the U.S. Customs House in New York City. The design depicts a seated female figure holding a torch in her right hand, with an American bald eagle resting at her feet.
History
The 2004 Proof Platinum Eagle release is unique because it is one of only four years that did not belong to a larger design theme. The others are the 2003 Proof Platinum Eagle featuring the U.S. flag and a bald eagle on a pine tree, as well as the original eagle-in-flight designs from 1997 and 2017.

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
