The 2006 American Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coin is an important release in the American Eagle gold bullion series. The 2006 release marks the 20th anniversary of these unique American coins. During 2006, the price of gold experienced a sharp spike in the second quarter, followed by a decline into a middle range. The price of gold began the year at $530 per ounce, spiked above $700 per ounce, and then closed the year at $632.00.
Obverse
On the obverse, youll find an image of Liberty in a full-length robe with flowing hair as she walks forward with a flaming torch and the national capitol building visible in the background. Surrounded by 50 stars and the word Liberty, this design was originally created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens.
Reverse
The reverse of all American Gold Eagle coins includes the image of a male bald eagle flying over a nest that contains a group of hatchlings under the watchful eye of a female bald eagle.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
