The obverse of the 2007 Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coin features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Designed in 2003 by Susanna Blunt, this right-profile relief is the fourth-generation design for Canadian coins and the second from a Canadian artist. Inscriptions on this side of the coin include ELIZABETH II, 50 DOLLARS, and 2007.
Reverse
On the reverse side of 2007 Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coins, you will find a depiction of the sugar maple leaf. Designed in 1979 by Walter Ott, this vision of the national emblem offers a natural look at the beauty of the leaf. History
Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coins were initially available only as 1 oz gold coins with .999 fineness. The purity of the coins was bumped to .9999 in November 1982. Since then, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz, 1/20 oz, and 1 Gram Gold Coins have been added to the series.
