In the 2000s, the Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Series was experiencing flat demand from investors. With markets around the world showing strength, demand for gold and other safe-haven metals was low. As a result, the 2007 Canadian Maple Leaf is one of the lower-minted options in the series. Provident Metals currently has 2007 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coins available to you for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase the 2007 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coin online in this Provident Metals listing, you will receive a coin that is housed in an individual protective flip. These coins came from one of the last low-mintage issues of the 2000s and 2010s. The upcoming Great Recession would turn gold demand on its head and push prices to an all-time high in the 2010s.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2007 Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coin features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Designed in 2003 by Susanna Blunt, this right-profile relief is the fourth-generation design for Canadian coins and the second from a Canadian artist. Inscriptions on this side of the coin include ELIZABETH II, 50 DOLLARS, and 2007.
Reverse
On the reverse side of 2007 Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coins, you will find a depiction of the sugar maple leaf. Designed in 1979 by Walter Ott, this vision of the national emblem offers a natural look at the beauty of the leaf. It has gone on to feature on all versions of the Canadian Maple Leaf, from gold and silver to platinum and palladium. Inscriptions on this side read CANADA, 9999, 1 OZ FINE GOLD, and ORO PURO.
History
Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coins were initially available only as 1 oz gold coins with .999 fineness. The purity of the coins was bumped to .9999 in November 1982. Since then, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz, 1/20 oz, and 1 Gram Gold Coins have been added to the series.
