Each of these 2007-W Burnished American Silver Eagles contains 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver. They arrive in original US Mint packaging with Certificate of Authenticity.
Produced by the United States Mint at its West Point location, the 2007 American Silver Eagle is struck on a specially burnished blank. It is among the most popular Silver Eagles minted in the United States.
Similar to its silver bullion counterparts, the burnished eagle contains 1 oz of .999 fine silver. Each coin arrives in its original U.S. Mint packaging with a Certificate of Authenticity.
The obverse of the Silver Eagle features Walking Liberty, a design created by Adolph A. Weinman in 1916 for the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. The image depicts a cloaked woman, known as Lady Liberty, striding toward an impending sunrise.
An American flag is draped over Liberty’s right shoulder as she holds a bundle of branches in her left arm. The words LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the date of mintage, are also engraved.
The reverse of each coin features the work of U.S. Mint chief engraver, John Mercanti. The design, created in 1986 for the express purpose of being featured on each Silver Eagle, is modeled after the Great Seal, which was adopted as America’s Coat of Arms in 1782.
The seal features an eagle holding a bundle of arrows in one claw and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing war and peace. In its mouth the bird holds a banner which reads E PLURIBUS UNUM meaning “Out of many, one.”
In addition, 13 stars can be seen above the eagle’s head, representing the original 13 colonies. The words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and 1 OZ FINE SILVER - ONE DOLLAR rim the outer edge of the coin.
The American Silver Eagle is the official bullion coin of the United States. First released by the U.S. Mint in 1986, the Silver Eagle is among the most collectible silver coin in the country. Each coin contains the same weight and purity and is issued by the San Francisco, West Point, and Philadelphia Mint locations.
