History

Proof American Eagle Gold Coins were introduced in three stages between 1986 and 1988. The 1986 issue included only the 1 oz gold coin. The 1987 release added the 1/2 gold coin. The 1988 release rounded out the series with the 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz coins. The mintage of 2007-W Proof American Eagle 1/2 oz Gold Coins totaled 44,025 in all.
