Offered annually by the Austrian Mint, the Austrian Philharmonic Series consists of gold, silver, and platinum bullion coins. The first coins issued were the gold bullion coins that launched in 1989 with 1 oz and 1/4 oz options. Obverse
For the obverse side of the 2008 Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coin, the mint features the Great Pipe Organ. This design comes with a depiction of the organ from within the Golden Concert Hall, otherwise known as the Musikverein. The field includes inscriptions of REPUBLIK OSTERREICH, 1 UNZE, 999.9, 2008, and 100 EUROS.
Reverse
In the reverse design of 2008 Philharmonic 1 oz Gold Coins, you will find a depiction of musical instruments. This design from Thomas Pesendorfer features a cello at the center, with two violins on either side, a bassoon, a harp, and a French horn in the background. Inscriptions on this face of the coin read WIENER PHILHARMONIKER.
History
Austrian Philharmonic 1 oz Gold Coins debuted in 1989 alongside a 1/4 oz gold coin. In 1991, the Austrian Mint introduced a 1/10 oz gold coin. In 1994, the mint introduced a 1/2 oz gold coin to the series. The 2014 date was the 25th anniversary for the series and resulted in the final release of the series, a 1/25 oz gold coin that remains in production today.

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
