History
In 2008, fractional-ounce coins were introduced for the first-and-only time in the American Buffalo Series, and a similar four-coin set was also issued. The US Mint released a Burnished Gold Buffalo that included three fractional-ounce coins in the same year. Additionally, in 2013, reverse-proof versions of the Gold Buffalo were released to commemorate the centennial of the coin that inspired the Gold Buffalo, the 1913 Buffalo Nickel.
