Each 2009 Proof Mexican Libertad 1/10 oz Gold Coin offered here comes individually packaged in a protective plastic capsule. These coins feature frosted designs set against mirrored backgrounds. The 1/10 oz Proof Gold Libertad had a mintage of just 600 coins in 2009, the same total as the 1/20 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1 oz coins. The 1/4 oz Gold Libertad had the highest production that year with 1,700 coins struck.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2009 Proof Mexican Libertad Gold Coin shows the Mexican coat of arms. This design features a golden eagle captured in left-profile, gripping a serpent in its beak and talon while standing on a prickly pear cactus. Inscriptions include ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.
Reverse
On the reverse side of 2009 Proof Libertad 1/10 oz Gold Coins is the figure of Winged Victory. This artwork is based on the statue found atop Mexico Citys Independence Victory Column. Winged Victory represents the spirit of triumph and is modeled after the Greek goddess Nike. Inscriptioons read 1/10 ONZA, ORO PURO, and LEY 999 2009.
History
Mexican Gold Libertads first appeared in 1981 with BU coins and were followed by the first Proof Gold Libertads in 1983. Early production was limited, and after the 1989 Proof release, the Proof series didnt return until 2004. Today, the Proof Gold Libertad lineup includes the 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz, and 1/20 oz coins.

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
