Between 2008 and 2015, the American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin set seven mintage records for a single year. The previous mintage record prior to this period was the 1987 release with its 11.442 million coins. The 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 coins each set a new record, followed by 2013, 2014, and 2015 coins during separate stretches of four years and three years.

Obverse

Walking Liberty is shown on the obverse side of 2010 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins. Her image was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman for the US Mint and used on the US half dollar from 1916 to 1947. Walking Liberty is shown walking toward the sun as it crests a mountain peak in the distant background field. Her right-hand reaches out for the sun on the horizon with her left hand carrying branches of oak and laurel.

Reverse

The heraldic eagle of the United States is depicted on the reverse of the 2010 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin. In this design, the heraldic eagle is shown as a powerful creature with the olive branch of peace in one talon and the arrows of war in the other talon. The US national shield is visible on the birds chest in this design. There is a triangular cluster of 13 stars over the head of the eagle.

History

The 2010 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin set a new record for single-year mintage with a total issue of 34.764 million coins sold. This was a jump of more than 4 million coins from the previous release in 2009 and was a record that would stand for just one year before the 2011 coin set a new record.

These 2010 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins are available to you in near-perfect condition. Mint State 69 coins have full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor detracting flaws.
