Considered the official bullion coin of the United States, the American Silver Eagle has been one of the most popular coins produced by the U.S. Mint since its debut in 1986. Composed of .999 fine silver, each coin has a diameter of 40mm.
This 2010 ASE has been graded MS69 by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) due to its nearly flawless appearance.
The reverse was created by Mint Chief Engraver, John Mercanti. Modeled after the Great Seal of the United States, it features a bald eagle clutching a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its talons. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, along with the coin’s fineness, face value and mint mark are also inscribed.
The obverse features Lady Liberty, cloaked in flowing robes, her arms are outstretched toward the sunrise. LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST and the date of mintage are engraved.
