On the obverse of the 2010 British Britannia Silver Coin is a right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown here in right-profile relief wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. This is Ian Rank-Broadleys depiction of the queen created in 1998. Inscriptions read ELIZABETH II, D.G. REG FID DEF, and 2 POUNDS.
Reverse
The reverse side of 2010 Britannia 1 oz Silver Coins comes with a depiction of Britannia. Her bust is shown in right-profile relief with a helmet atop her head. The inscriptions include BRITANNIA, ONE OUNCE FINE SILVER, and 2010.
History
Starting in 1998, these coins came with reverse images of a standing Britannia figure in all even-numbered years. This cycle included Philip Nathans 1987 design of Britannia on occasion. Starting in 1999, the odd-numbered years featured portraits of Britannia that did not repeat across any given year.
