Since its debut in 2007, the First Spouse Series has been one of the U.S. Mints most popular programs. Starting with Martha Washington, the collection has honored each First Spouse with exquisite designs inspired by their life and work. Each year, the mint has released four new coins in the series. And for those presidents who did not have a spouse while in office, a depiction of Lady Liberty is featured instead.
