Heading into the 2009 hiatus in the series, the Proof Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coin sold just 18,877 units. In 2010, demand skyrocketed to 44,507. The 2007 and 2010 coins had the highest mintages in this weight since the 1994 and 1995 coins.
