Issued by the U.S. Mint, the 2011 25th Anniversary Silver Eagle Set is comprised of five coins: the Reverse Cameo Silver Eagle, the Proof Silver Eagle, the UNC Silver Eagle with the “W” Mintmark, the UNC Silver Eagle with the “S” Mintmark, and the UNC Silver Eagle with no mintmark. The Reverse Cameo and S-Mint UNC specifically are only available in this set. Each coin arrives in individualized plastic cases, specially signed by the U.S. Mint’s Chief Engraver, John Mercanti. Overall, the set has a low mintage, so supplies are limited.

Each obverse features an adapted version of the Walking Liberty design, originally created for the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar. The image depicts a robed figure striding toward an approaching sunrise. The word “LIBERTY” is engraved at the top of the coin with the phrase “IN GOD WE TRUST” displayed on the right hand side.

The reverse of each coin features the design of the Great Seal, originally adopted as the United States’ Coat of Arms in 1782. The Seal shows an eagle grasping a bundle of arrows in its right claw and an olive branch in its left, symbolizing war and peace. The eagle also holds a banner in its mouth with the words “E PLURIBUS UNUM” or “Out of One, Many” inscribed. Thirteen stars are seen overhead the eagle’s head, representing the original 13 colonies. In addition, the phrase “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”, the grade, and the face value of the coin are also engraved.
