All 2011 Mexican Libertad 5 oz Silver Coins offered by Provident Metals come encapsulated in protective plastic, safeguarding their pristine condition. This 5 oz silver coin, second only to the 1 Kilo coin in size, has been a coveted annual release since 1996. The 2011 edition boasts a limited mintage of just 10,000 coins.

On the obverse of the 2011 Mexican Libertad Silver Coin, the mint presents the national coat of arms of Mexico, adorned with a ring featuring 10 historical versions of the seal encircling the outer edge. At its center, the modern coat of arms depicts the golden eagle in left-profile relief, engaged in battle with a serpent atop a prickly pear cactus. Inscriptions include ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.

Turning to the reverse of the 2011 Libertad 5 oz Silver Coins, one encounters a captivating depiction of Winged Victory, an emblematic figure of the Mexican Revolution. This portrayal, reminiscent of the Mexican Independence Victory Column, showcases the angelic figure clutching a laurel wreath in one hand and broken chains in the other, set against a backdrop featuring the volcanic peaks of Popocatepelt and Iztaccihuatl. Inscriptions read 5 ONZAS, PLATA PURA, 2011 LEY .999, and the mint mark.

From 1996 to 2007, the 5 oz silver coin was the largest Silver Libertad available in the series. It was introduced in 1996 alongside the 2 oz silver coin, but would later be surpassed in size in 2008 when the Mexican Mint introduced a 1 Kilogram coin into the collection.
