Coin Highlights:
In 1920, Mexico gained its freedom from Spanish rule. This is remembered in a number of ways; one of them being the production and introduction of the Mexican Libertad Gold Coin from the Mexican Mint in 1981. The Proof versions are just as relevant and treasured by the community of collectors and investors in global gold commodities. Coins with a PF69 grade have full, original mint luster with no more than two minor detractions present.
Obverse
The obverse side of the coin features the national emblem of Mexico. This is a bald eagle dueling viciously with a serpent. A wreath is depicted underneath and the words Estados Unidos Mexicanos are engraved above. Each 2011 Proof Mexican Libertad coin is composed of 1/2 troy oz of .999 gold content and has a frosted design with deeply mirrored fields.
Reverse
On the reverse side of each 2011 Proof Mexican Libertad 1/2 oz Gold Coin, you will find the iconic image of the Winged Victory. It is designed to replicate the famous statute located in Mexico City and is depicted with a wreath crown in her right hand and the broken chains of colonization in her left. Her glorious wings are on full display, highlighting her heavenly figure and lovely gaze. The Winged Victory is also surrounded by the mint mark, the coins weight, metal content, and purity, as well as the year of minting.
