Surrounding this symbol of Mexicos national pride are ten historical versions of the emblem, illustrating the evolution of the nations identity. Inscriptions include ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2011 Proof Libertad 1 oz Gold Coin highlights the statue of Winged Victory. Perched atop the Independence Victory Column in Mexico City, this figure stands as a symbol of Mexican independence. Behind Winged Victory, youll see the volcanic peaks of Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl, an iconic backdrop for the coins design. Inscriptions read 1 ONZA, ORO PURO, 2011 LEY .999, and the mint mark.
History
Proof Gold Libertads were first minted in 1981, available in 1 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1/4 oz options. This series experienced a brief hiatus before resuming production in 1991. Since 2002, Proof Gold Libertads have been issued every year. The 2011 coin is among the rarest in this series, with a limited mintage of only 3,000 coins, in contrast to the highest recorded mintage of 596,000 coins in 1981.

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
