American Eagle Silver Coins debuted at the United States Mint in 1986. The bullion version of the coin was produced at the San Francisco Mint from 1986 to 1998. Although the coins never have a mint mark on the bullion specimens, it was still public knowledge that the coin was produced in San Francisco. After 13 years on the sidelines, the San Francisco Mint got involved in the production of bullion American Eagle Silver coins again in 2011. Today, you have the chance to purchase 2011-S American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins online at Provident Metals in perfect condition.

American Eagle Silver Coins do not feature mint marks, but boxes from the mint do come with mint straps identifying the mint that struck the coins. After the American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin was no longer produced at the San Francisco Mint, the Philadelphia Mint handled coining from 1999 to 2000. Since 2001, the West Point Mint has had the primary responsibility. However, the intense demand for silver pressed the San Francisco Mint into coining again with these 2011 coins originating in San Francisco.

Obverse

Walking Liberty graces the obverse of all 2011-S American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins. Designed in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman, this image of Liberty depicts her figure in left-profile relief as she walks toward the sun on the horizon. She reaches out for the brightness of a new day with her right hand and clutches branches of oak and laurel in her left hand. The American flag is draped over her shoulders.

Reverse

The heraldic eagle of the United States is on the reverse of the 2011 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins. Created in 1792 by Robert Scot, this modern version of the national emblem was created in 1986 for the American Eagle Silver Coins by John Mercanti.

History

American Eagle Silver Coins saw the highest period of demand in the history of the program between 2010 and 2015. During this time, the single-year mintage surpassed 40 million on several occasions and culminated in a record 47 million coins sold in 2015.

These 2011-S American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins have Mint State 70 certifications indicating the presence of full, original mint luster and no detracting flaws. The included Early Release label means the coins were received within 30 days of the original release date.
