Obverse

The obverse side of the 2011-W US Mint First Spouse Lucretia Garfield Gold Coin beautifully captures the likeness of this esteemed First Lady. Due to the short tenure of James Garfield’s presidency, Lucretia’s time as First Lady was also brief, spanning only from March to September 1881.
