The coin contains 10 oz of .999 silver and pays tribute to the dragon, officially observed within the Chinese Lunar Calendar. The dragon is a popular emblem in Chinese culture, a legendary creature in mythology and a symbol in the Chinese zodiac system.
With 2012 being the Year of the Dragon, the reverse of this 10 oz coin prominently displays a detailed design of a dragon. The dragon is traditionally a symbol of strength, power and good luck in addition to being used to represent historical, imperial dominance. The Chinese symbol for dragon along with the phrase “Year of the Dragon” is also engraved on the reverse.
The obverse features Ian Rank-Broadley’s profile design of Queen Elizabeth II. The words ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, 10 DOLLARS, 10 oz. .999 SILVER and the date of mintage, 2012, are engraved on the outer rim of the coin.

The coin is much more ATTRACTIVE when you see it than the Web photos indicate. The raised Dragon and Queen Elizabeth have a very shiny luster that is similar to a Proof coin, so they stand out nicely against the matte background.
And for the 10-ounce size, the price is not that much higher per ounce than the current Silver bouillon market price. So even a modest Silver price increase would recoup your investment from its bouillon value alone.
