Mint State 69 coins exhibit full, original mint luster with no more than two minor detracting flaws present on the surface areas or design elements of the coin. Examples of acceptable flaws at this grading level include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines that must be located outside of the primary focal points of the coin.

Obverse

President George Washington is featured on the obverse of 2012 ATB Chaco Culture 5 oz Silver Coins. This left-profile bust of President Washington was created in 1932 by John Flanagan and is based on a 1786 sculpting of Washington. The left-profile bust of the president is accompanied by inscriptions of the state and park represented, as well as the phrase E Pluribus Unum.

Reverse

Kivas are rooms and structures built in Pueblo communities for religious ceremonies and are depicted in the reverse design of the 2012 ATB Chaco Culture 5 oz Silver Coin. These kivas are part of larger communities built by Pueblo peoples in what is now the southwestern United States centuries ago. Pueblos have lived in the region for thousands of years, but it was around 900 AD that they began living together in large concentrations across the area.

History

Chaco Culture National Historical Park preserves the former homes and communities of the Pueblo in New Mexico. Some of the settlements the Pueblo built over 1,000 years ago were as complex and compact as modern cities with housing blocks for members of the community and central gathering places, such as the kivas depicted on the coin.

Ordering

These 2012 ATB Chaco Culture 5 oz Silver Rounds have DMPL designations from the PCGS. This means that, even though these are bullion coins, each one has deeply-mirrored, proof-like visuals.
