Every year, there are certain annual bullion coin releases that are met with extremely high demand from investors and collectors. The Mexican Libertad is one of those coins. Issued by the Mexican Mint with lower mintages than its competitors like the American Eagle and Canadian Maple Leaf, the Libertad can make for a memorable and unique addition to your precious metals portfolio. Now, you have the chance to purchase 2012 Mexican Libertad 1 oz Silver Coins online from Provident Metals.

Coin Highlights:

  • Available to you in a plastic flip!
  • Mexican Libertad from 2012!
  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver.
  • The coat of arms of Mexico is depicted on the obverse.
  • The statue of Winged Victory features in the reverse design.

All 2012 Mexican Libertad 1 oz Coins have been struck at the Mexican Mint and are considered legal tender. But rather than containing a face value amount, the coins are instead guaranteed by Banco de Mexico for their silver content alone. Because of their age, these coins may feature blemishes and are not considered to be in BU condition. They will arrive in protective packaging in the form of a plastic flip.

Obverse

Upon the obverse of 2012 Mexican Libertad Silver Coins, you will find the Mexican coat of arms. Introduced in 1968, this national emblem features an eagle on a bed of cacti as it consumes a rattlesnake. Around the design are inscriptions reading ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICA NOS. In addition, you will find ten previous renditions of the Mexican seal along the coins rim.

Reverse

The reverse side of 2012 Mexican Libertad Coins features the statue of Winged Victory. This image is inspired by the 1921 gold Centenario, which in turn was designed in commemoration of Mexicos independence from Spanish rule. The real-life version of this statue can be found atop the Angel of Independence monument in Mexico City. The reverse field also includes inscriptions that read 1 ONZA PLATA PURA 2012 LEY .999.

History

The Silver Libertad was introduced in 1982 by the Mexican Mint, which is the oldest minting institution in the Americas. Today, the Libertad is produced in both gold and silver. In addition to the BU version, the Libertad is also available with proof, reverse proof, and antique finishes. While the Libertad signifies great national pride for the people of Mexico, it is a coin of such beauty that its appeal transcends all borders.
