Each of these 2012 1 oz American Silver Eagles has been authenticated and has received a PERFECT GRADE of Mint State 70 Early Release by NGC, The Numismatic Guarantee Corporation.
Please note, these coins were struck at the US Mint Facility at West Point and are the bullion version and therefore do not bear the "W" Mint mark that the burnished/collector version does.
Produced in San Francisco, West Point and Philadelphia and issued by the U.S Mint since 1986, American Silver Eagles are among the most collected coins in the United States. Each 2012 American Silver Eagle at Provident Metals has been graded MS70 by the NGC and contains 1 troy oz. of .999 fine silver. All edges are reeded with a face value of $1.
The obverse of every Silver Eagle features Walking Liberty, a design created by Adolph A. Weinman in 1916 for the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. The image depicts a cloaked woman, known as Lady Liberty, striding toward an impending sunrise. An American flag is draped over her right shoulder as she holds a bundle of branches in her left arm. The words LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST along with the date of mintage are additionally engraved.
The reverse side of the coin features the work of the U.S. Mint’s chief engraver, John Mercanti. The design, created in 1986 for the express purpose of being featured on each Silver Eagle, is modeled after the Great Seal, which was adopted as America’s Coat of Arms in 1782. The seal portrays an eagle holding a bundle of arrows in one claw and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing war and peace. In its mouth the bird holds a banner which reads E PLURIBUS UNUM meaning “Out of many, one.” In addition, 13 stars can be seen above the eagle’s head, representing the original 13 colonies. The words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and 1 OZ FINE SILVER - ONE DOLLAR rim the outer edge of the coin.
