Obverse
On the obverse of the 2012-W Proof Buffalo 1 oz Gold Coin is the regal image of a Native American chieftain, his stern countenance captured in striking detail. The design field of the coin is inscribed with LIBERTY, 2012, and the W mint mark of the West Point Mint.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2012-W Proof American Buffalo Gold Coin comes with an image of a majestic buffalo, its massive form looming large in the center of the design. The buffalo stands on a grassy plain, surrounded by the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 50 DOLLARS, and 1 OZ. .9999 FINE GOLD.

The mintage of 19,715 coins in 2012 ranks in the middle of the pack for mintage levels in the history of this series, through 2022. The highest minted coin is the 2006 date with more than 246,000 coins sold in total. The 2007, 2009, and 2010 coins occupy the next three spots, respectively, but are all around one-fifth the level of 2006. Of the 17 issues from 2006 to 2022, the 2012 coin ranks eighth overall.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
