The reverse of each 2013 1 Oz Silver Koala features the cuddly marsupial perched in the fork of an Australian tree. It is inscribed with the words AUSTRALIAN KOALA, 2013, 999 SILVER, the mint mark P and the coin’s size. The obverse of each 2013 Koala bears the image of Queen Elizabeth II of England, designed by acclaimed British sculptor, Ian Rank Broadley. It is inscribed with the words AUSTRALIA, ELIZABETH II and 1 DOLLAR.
Released with annually-changing designs since its 2007 introduction, the Australian Silver Koala is among the most popular bullion coins issued by the Perth Mint. The 2013 edition has no predetermined mintage cap, and will be produced until the end of 2013.
The Perth Mint was established in 1899 after gold was discovered in Australian deposits. The mint struck gold and silver sovereigns until Great Britain abandoned the gold standard in 1931. It remained under British control until 1970, when it ceded to the government of Western Australia.

Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
