On the obverse design of the 2013 Chinese Panda Gold Coin, you’ll discover the magnificent Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. This iconic structure offers a breathtaking view of its front doors from the base of the steps leading up to the entrance. As the largest building within the Temple of Heaven Complex, the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests holds immense cultural significance.

As for the reverse design of the 2013 Panda 1 oz Gold Coins, you’ll be enchanted by the heartwarming depiction of a family of pandas. Set against a backdrop of bamboo, these pandas gather near the serene banks of a small body of water. One of the pandas can be seen taking a sip of water from the pond, creating delicate ripples on the surface near its mouth.

The giant panda’s evolutionary history can be traced back to an ancestor that diverged from other bears around 19-24 million years ago. Fossil records indicate that early panda-like bears were more carnivorous and inhabited a broader range of habitats. Over time, the giant panda’s lineage gradually transitioned to a specialized bamboo diet and adapted to a more herbivorous lifestyle, diverging from its carnivorous ancestors.
