Obverse
Walking Liberty is depicted on the obverse side of 2013-W Enhanced Finish American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins. This design from Adolph A. Weinman was created in 1916 and shows Liberty marching toward the sun on the horizon with her right hand outstretched. The inscriptions include Liberty, In God We Trust, and 2013.
Reverse
In the reverse design, the 2013-W Enhanced Finish American Eagle Silver Coin features the heraldic eagle of the United States. Modified for this series in 1986 by John Mercanti, it depicts the bald eagle with the US national shield, olive branch of peace, and arrows of war. The inscriptions read United States of America, 1 oz. Fine Silver One Dollar, and E Pluribus Unum. The W mint mark also features on this side.
History
These Enhanced Finish American Eagle Silver Coins came from the West Point Mint Two-Coin Set and were released with a companion Reverse Proof American Eagle Silver Coin. These Enhanced Finish coins have three finishes: heavy frost, light frost, and brilliant polish. These finishes are used in alternating places across the coins surface for visual brilliance.
