The Mexican Libertad Series is a celebrated collection from the Mexican Mint, introduced in gold in 1981 and silver in 1982. Each year, the coins feature the same designs on both the obverse and reverse, with various options available including BU, Proof, Reverse Proof, and Antique. The 2013 Proof Mexican Libertad 1 oz Silver Coins come in an acrylic capsule with a mintage of 9,100 coins, which is higher than both the 2012 (4,200) and 2014 (4,700) coins. The Proof coins feature frosted designs with mirrored backgrounds.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2013 Proof Mexican Libertad Silver Coin, you will see the Mexican coat of arms. This design features a golden eagle in left-profile relief battling a serpent. The eagle is shown standing on a prickly pear cactus, surrounded by 10 historical versions of the seal. The inscriptions read ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.
Reverse
The reverse design of the 2013 Proof Libertad 1 oz Silver Coin displays Winged Victory, modeled after the statue on the Mexican Independence Victory Column in Mexico City. The background includes the volcanic peaks of Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl. Inscriptions here read 1 ONZA, PLATA PURA, 2013 LEY .999, and the mint mark.
History
Proof Mexican Silver Libertad Coins were first issued in 1983 with just the 1 oz silver option. The series became an annual release starting in 1986, initially with only the 1 oz size until 1991. Fractional-ounce proof coins were introduced in 1992, followed by 2 oz and 5 oz sizes in 1996, and a 1 Kilo coin in 2002.

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
Provident is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
