Obverse

The obverse face of each 2013 Somalia Elephant Lunar Snake Privy 1 oz Silver Coin bears the image of a small elephant herd as the banks of a river or lake. You will also notice a small snake privy mark on the right side of the design. This snake privy mark was added to these coins in honor of the Year of the Snake on the Chinese Lunar Calendar. The snake privy showcases a cobra.

Reverse

On the reverse, you will see the coat of arms for the country of Somalia. The coat of arms features a heraldic shield with a single star. The background field contains horizontal lines. There is a leopard on either side of the shield.

History

The Somali Elephant Silver Coins are minted at the Bavarian State Mint each year. This state-owned entity belongs to the Free State of Bavaria, and it is one of the primary minting facilities in the entire country of Germany.
