The Superman & Metropolis coin is made of one ounce of .9999 fine silver and features a hologram that creates the illusion that Superman is truly speeding over Metropolis to fend off danger, breaking the sound barrier and creating a ripple of color. The achromatic hologram is the first-ever to be engraved in a coin, and was created with a trademarked process called nanogravure, allowing the image to be etched on an ultramicroscopic level directly into the coin. This is not an overlay–it was created directly on the coin itself!
A silver Superman flies over the holographic Metropolis, the Daily Planet visible just below him in this stunning design celebrating the 75th anniversary of Superman. The rim reads “CANADA,” “20 DOLLARS” and “2013,” as well as the words “75 Years of Superman” in both English and French and written in Superman’s native Kryptonian language directly from the comic.
As this is legal tender in Canada, the reverse features the portrait of the Queen by artist Susanna Blunt, along with the words “ELIZABETH II” and “D G REGINA.”

This coin looked like it would be a great investment and keepsake. When I received it [I actually bought 2] I was disappointed. You have to have the right light and the coin in certain position to have it look somewhat okay. On receiving the coin I wouldn't have brought 2, I would have brought the enamel one with it. I still think that down the line it will be a good not great investment."
