With the Presidents health in decline, Edith took on a significant role in decision-making, determining which matters required his direct attention and which could be handled by others. History

Edith Wilson became the second wife of President Woodrow Wilson in 1915 after the passing of his first wife during his first term in office. Their marriage took place just a year later, and Edith went on to play a vital role in his presidency. Following President Wilsons health complications during his second term, she became one of the most influential First Ladies in history.
