The words “AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA” are over its head, with the lower part of the rim reading “2014 10 oz 999 SILVER.”
The reverse honors Australia’s Queen Elizabeth II, her graceful portrait staring off toward the right. The rim bears the words “ELIZABETH II,” “AUSTRALIA” and “10 DOLLARS.”
Kookaburras are a popular bird, despite being native only to the island nation of Australia. Its distinctive laugh-like call has been transmitted around the world, and can even be heard in Disney theme park attractions and “jungle” themed video games.
