The Royal Canadian Mint has unveiled the first of seven coins in a new series honoring teachings of the First Nations people of Canada. The 2014 $20 Fine Silver coin – Seven Sacred Teachings: Love has a highly limited mintage of 10,000 coins, so get yours while supplies last.
Composed of 1 troy ounce of.9999 pure silver with gold plating, this proof coin is the perfect way to invest in precious metals — while celebrating Woodland style art of the Algonquin people.
The series is expected to release coins highlighting the teachings of love, respect, courage, honesty, wisdom, humility and truth.
Designed by Mtis artist Nathalie Bertin, the reverse of each coin features a gold plated eagle formed in the shape of a heart, symbolizing self-love. A person stands at the center. It is inscribed with the words CANADA and 20 DOLLARS
The obverse includes the gold plated image of Queen Elizabeth II, along with the inscriptions ELIZABETH II, 2014, 9999 and FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PURE.
Each 1 oz coin has a diameter of 40mm and a weight of 31.83 grams. It comes housed in a maroon clamshell with a custom beauty box.
