The 2014 Australian Silver Wedge Tail Eagle 1 oz Coin MS69 Varied Label PCGS or NGC is minted in 99.9% fine silver. It has received a grading of Mint State-69 from both the PCGS and the NGC. An MS69 grading implies that the 2014 coin is almost perfect, although it does contain a maximum of two minor imperfections. The coin still maintains its full mint luster but might contain minuscule hairline flaws. Because the 2014 coin has a varied label, Provident Metals cannot guarantee which grading house certified this coin.

Obverse

The obverse of the 2014 Australian Silver Wedge Tail Eagle 1 oz Coin MS69 Varied Label PCGS or NGC displays the profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, this portrait is included to honor the queen as a revered leader of Australia. The obverse also shows the face value of $1 AUD.

Mercantis design shows the eagle extending its talons as if its about to land. Along with Mercantis design, the reverse also shows the weight and purity of the coin, the text AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE, and the P mint mark from the Perth Mint.

History

The Australian Wedge Tail Eagle series is the result of a collaboration between retired 12^th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint, John Mercanti, and the high production quality of the Perth Mint. This series is the first time that Mercanti has designed coins for another mint.
