Put your savings on ice with the 2014 ½ oz Igloo from the Royal Canadian Mint’s O Canada series. The stark glow of snow is much like that of pure silver, so this igloo composed of .999 silver truly shines.
Designed by Canadian artist Yves Berube, the reverse features an Inuit man hauling an ice block out of the frozen ground as he constructs an igloo, carefully building the tunnel entrance to protect his icy domicile from sub-zero wind and cold. The rim reads CANADA and 10 DOLLARS, with 2014 to the right of the igloo. Another igloo hunches in the distance to the left.
The obverse includes a portrait of Queen Elizabeth, wearing pearl earrings and a necklace. The rim reads ELIZABETH II and DG REGINA.
The O Canada series depicts images that reflect the proud heritage of the country. The igloo, a shelter made from one of the nation’s most common natural materials—snow—found in the farthest, coldest reaches of Canada, certainly fits that description.
Though the dome-shaped homes are made of blocks of snow, the air inside becomes much warmer than the frigid outdoor temperatures: up to 61 degrees Fahrenheit when warmed by body heat alone, even if outside temperatures are as low as -49 degrees.
Keep your investments warm with this bit of “ice.” The 2014 ½ oz Igloo is the first coin in the new series, so you can also be the first to collect this beautiful series. Only 40,000 will be minted! Place your order for a 2014 ½ ounce Igloo with Provident Metals today.

"
I always buy Canadian coins. Usu. I purchase from the Canadian mint directly, but I didn't make this purchase at the time. So, I am buying it here. I enjoy the many varieties of Canadian coins. They tend to offer a better variety than most other countries."
