History

Proof Gold Eagle mintages can vary, and the 2014 release came at a time when collector demand was lower than in earlier years. In 2010, the 1/10 oz proof mintage reached 54,285 coins, and the 1 oz proof version saw 59,480 coins produced. By 2014, production of the 1/10 oz proof size had dropped to 22,725 coins. Despite that decline, the 2014 total was still higher than the mintage numbers posted in 2012 and 2013.
