Like its predecessors, the 2015 1 oz American Silver Eagle carries legal tender value in the United States, and is minted from silver mined exclusively in the U.S. Also, because of its global renown and high standards of quality, American Silver Eagles qualify for Precious Metals IRAs. Each of these 2015 1 oz American Silver Eagles is composed of 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver, and arrives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.

The American Silver Eagle program stems from the federal plan to sell silver holdings from the Defense National Stockpile in the 1970s and 1980s. In 1982, Senator McClure introduced a bill that allowed the disposal of the national stockpile through the sale of coins; this was amended in 1985, and the American Silver Eagle was first minted in 1986.
The obverse of the American Silver Eagle features a walking Lady Liberty, which was originally designed by Adolph A. Weinman. Lady Liberty is draped in an American flag; in her left arm she carries a bouquet of laurel and oak branches, her right arm is extended toward the sunrise. “LIBERTY” is inscribed along the upper margin of the coin, “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “2015” are inscribed beside and below Lady Liberty.
The reverse of the American Silver Eagle was designed by John Mercanti, and features an eagle and a shield. The eagle grasps a bundle of arrows in its left talon and an olive branch in its right. Its beak holds a banner with the inscription “E PLURIBUS UNUM“, which means “Out of many, one.” There are 13 stars above the eagle’s head, and the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”, and “1 OZ. FINE SILVER-ONE DOLLAR” are featured adjacent to the rim.

I received my 1st 2015 Silver Eagle today. I paid by money order and it only took 9 days from the day I placed it in the mail to receive my order. Which is great! Also considering that I received it 2 days earlier than it was estimated makes me praise Provident Metals even more. My ASE came well packaged but with a tiny black blemish on the reverse rim. Passed the ping test, but I did use an app called bullion tester, so not sure if it is a legit app or not, but looks like every thing checks out.
