Britannia, a female figure that personifies the island of Great Britain, is depicted on the reverse, as she clutches a tridon in her left hand and a shield in her right. BRITANNIA, 2015, 1 OZ, and 999 FINE SILVER are engraved on the coins outer edge.
Ian Rank-Broadleys effigy of Queen Elizabeth II graces the obverse. ELIZABETH II, D.G. (reigning by the grace of God), REG FID DEF (defender of the faith) and 2 POUNDS are also inscribed.
Commonly Asked Questions
This British sovereign coin arrives in uncirculated condition. Multiples of 25 will arrive in original mint tubes to ensure authenticity. Multiples of 500 will arrive in a Royal Mint Monster Box.
It is important to note that Provident Metals does not cherry pick rolls of coins. They remain unopened and arrive as issued from the mint. Singles are carefully placed in plastic sleeves for safekeeping.
Wire and credit card orders begin processing immediately, while checks generally take five business days to clear. Once your payment is processed, orders ship in 3-5 days.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.
Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
Provident is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.

For a sovereign mint bullion coin, the price is rock bottom – lower than the ASEs, Maples and Libertads (at least for now). For the current price, you get it all – sovereign mint, an attractive design updated for this year (who doesn’t like Rule Britannia?!), and IRA approved. As I noted in an earlier review, the high gloss finish does make it a bit tricky to appreciate the finer points of the design, but bullion is bullion. These coins grow on you; I’ve got two tubes and will buy another couple if I get a windfall before end of year.

The Britannia is a beautifully designed coin, but as another reviewer pointed out, the high-polish finish makes it a little difficult to appreciate the beauty of the design. Coin has the exact same image as all Silver Britannias minted since 2012, except they added a “pebble” surface to the coin. These coins are no longer restricted in their mintage number, in dire need of a fresh image update.
