The story is important to Armenia, as the boat arrived near Mount Ararat, which was historically within the boarders of the Republic of Armenia, connecting the nation to the historic event.
The reverse of this silver coin depicts the scene after the storms had subsided: Noah’s Ark floating on flood waters with Mount Ararat and the rising sun in the background. A dove carrying an olive branch flies in the foreground. “NOAH’S ARK” in Armenian and English is inscribed near the coin’s rim.
The Armenian coat of arms is displayed on the obverse along with a lion and an eagle. Inscriptions include the coin’s face value, weight, purity and year of issue. “REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA” is engraved in English and Armenian around the rim.

My oh my, what a lovely giant coin. In the 10 ounce category I usually stick with Royal Canadian Mint bars or Prospector bars but I wanted to mix things up a bit. This coin has amazing detail. It has a mirror finish in the waves and sea areas, as well as the reverse with the coat of arms. There is a higher premium over bars of this size but not that much. If Provident stocks the 2016 version of this I'll probably buy one as well."
