Adapted from the circulation quarter, this left-profile bust features the first President of the United States in the same design originally created in 1932 by John Flanagan.

Reverse

The bird is flying low above the grasslands made up of Eastern Bluegrass, and you can see one of the towering longleaf pines of the forest rising toward the sky in the background.

History

Kisatchie National Forest protects a unique ecosystem within the state of Louisiana. Though much of the state is known for its coastal ecosystems and vast bayous in the south, the forested northern parishes are actually considered part of the broader Central Plains in the United States with dense longleaf pines forests and open flatwoods.
