Prior to 2016, the Australian Kangaroo silver bullion coins were issued sporadically by the Perth Mint and most commonly available as proof options. The 2015 issue of the coins included these beautiful bullion specimens available individually or in multiples. Today, you have the opportunity to buy 2015 Australian Kangaroo 1 oz Silver Coins online at Provident Metals.
The kangaroo is a symbol that has become synonymous with the nation of Australia and is featured in countless government seals and symbols. The Royal Australian Air Force uses the kangaroo in its patches and unit emblems, while one of the national commercial air carriers, Qantas, also uses the kangaroo as its logo.
On the obverse side of the 2015 Australian Kangaroo 1 oz Silver Coin is a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty features here in a design created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley for the Royal Mint of England. The image featured on British coins from 1998 to 2015 and Australian coins from 1999 to 2018/2019. The right-profile bust comes with the Queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. Inscriptions on this face of the coin include Elizabeth II, Australia, and 1 Dollar.
The reverse face of the 2015 Australian Kangaroo 1 oz Silver Coin includes a red kangaroo species leaping across the design field from right to left. This design was originally used on Australian pennies in the 1950s prior to decimalization and the founding of the Royal Australian Mint. The background field includes stylized rays of sunshine with inscriptions of Australian Kangaroo, 2015 1 oz 999 Silver, and the P mint mark of the Perth Mint.
Starting in 2016, the Australian Kangaroo 1 oz Silver Coin became a regular bullion issue from the Perth Mint alongside the Australian Kookaburra and Australian Koala coins. Unlike the others, the Australian Kangaroo silver coins debuted with .9999 pure silver content for the first time among the Perth Mints annual bullion releases.
2015 Australian Kangaroo 1 oz Silver Coins are available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and ship in protective plastic flips when purchased individually. Multiples will ship in mint tubes of 25 coins and mint boxes of 500 coins.
