The 2015 Australian Wedge Tail Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin was manufactured and produced by the Perth Mint using 99.9% fine silver. This bullion release was graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) and the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) and given a grading of MS70. This means that this coin is in perfect mint condition; even if it were to be viewed underneath 5x magnification, there would not be scratches or marks from wear and handling.

History

This release for 2015 of the Australian Silver Eagle is the first time that a U.S. Mint chief engraver collaborated with a mint outside of the United States. John Mercanti, the chief engraver for the U.S. Mint, works alongside the Perth Mint to design this special coin. This collaboration resulted in a beautiful bullion product with intricate detailing.

Obverse

The portrait of the late Queen Elizabeth II, designed by artist Ian Rank-Broadley, is the image on the obverse of the 2015 Australian Wedge Tail Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin. This image has truly stood the test of time, especially because it has been used as an obverse design on coins found around the world. The obverse also features specs about this bullion release, including the coins country of origin and value. The inscription ELIZABETH II is also shown on the obverse.

Reverse

An image of a soaring eagle is shown on the reverse of the 2015 Australian Wedge Tail Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin. The viewer will see the eagle flying with outstretched wings. There is detailing along the eagles body and wings, and its very easy to make out the eagles feathers. The weight, purity, and release year of the coin are featured on the reverse, as well.
