The president is featured in a left-profile bust that is accompanied by inscriptions around the design field that identify the site represented in the release, the state represented, and the national phrase E Pluribus Unum. The bust of Washington was created in 1932 by John Flanagan.

Reverse

For the reverse field, the 2015-P Burnished ATB Bombay Hook 5 oz Silver Coin features some of the migratory bird species that take advantage of the salt marshes in and around Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge. The birds featured here include a Great Blue Heron and a great egret in the design element.

History

Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge secures and preserves nearly 16,000 acres of salt marshes and land around Delaware Bay. The preserve was established in 1937 using federal duck stamp funds and is situated along the Atlantic Flyway, a migratory route that birds travel along the Eastern Seaboard from Canada and the northeastern United States down as far as Cuba. Bombay Hook ensures there are breeding and feeding grounds available to migratory birds.
