This modern interpretation shows her in a three-quarter view, with a laurel wreath raised in her right hand and broken chains held in her left hand. Inscriptions include 1 ONZA, ORO PURO, 2015 LEY .999, and the mint mark.

History

The designs seen in the Gold Libertad Series trace back to the 1921 Gold Centenario. This historical 50-peso coin marked the 100th anniversary of Mexicos independence from Spain. On the obverse, the coin features Winged Victory holding a laurel wreath and broken chains, symbolizing freedom. The reverse of the Centenario highlights the Mexican coat of arms, featuring an eagle perched on a cactus with a serpent in its beak.
